Bellator 72, the second of the promotion's "Summer Series" events, will take place on July 20 at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida.
The show will have the season-six welterweight-tournament finale between Bryan Baker (18-3 MMA, 8-2 BFC) and Karl Amoussou (15-4-2 MMA, 3-1 BFC). Other bouts include the third meeting between welterweights Waachiim Spiritwolf (9-10-1 MMA, 0-1 BFC) and Marius Zaromskis (17-6 MMA, 1-0 BFC).
The first two fights between Spiritwolf and Zaromskis had controversial finishes. They fought first in late 2010 in Strikeforce where the fight was called a no content. Spiritwolf had a deep eyepoke six seconds into the fight. They fought again at Bellator 68 because of a stopped fight two rounds in. Spiritwold had a cut near his eye. Zaromskis is on a three fight win streak while Spiritworld has only won one of his last six fights.
Baker previously had semifinal and runner-up finishes in two prior middleweight tournaments. He advanced to this final after a split-decision win over Carlos Alexandre Pereira and a unanimous-decision victory over Ben Saunders. He's 5-1 in his past six fights. Amoussou advanced with wins over Chris Lozano via submission and David Rickels via split decision. He's currently on a three fight win streak in Bellator.
The card will also feature the semifinals of the eight-man "Summer Series" light-heavyweight tournament. The card will air on MTV2 after preliminary fights on Spike.com.
