Chris Saunders recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Myles Jury at The Ultimate Fighter Live Finale tonight. Check out the highlights:
On being surprised by the nature of the TUF house: "I thought everybody would keep to themselves – just be mean, honestly. But fortunately enough, I found Andy Ogle and Joe Proctor. Honestly, I don't think I could have made it through this show without having my best mate, Andy."
On the camaraderie he found on the show: "These guys just really rallied behind me and really instilled in me, 'Dude, you're one of the best fighters here. You need to believe that [in your head]. You have all the tools. I think it showed. I believed it in the Sam (Sicilia) fight."
On the impression he made on people: "I never thought I'd make a difference like this. The nice words from random people, you're like, wow, these people care. Or Kenny Florian tweeting me and talking about me was a huge honor. I got to see him yesterday at the weigh-ins, and I thanked him for his kind words. He said, 'I'm a fan of yours,' and I was like, 'Wow, I can't believe this is happening.'"
On his fight with Jury: "I came out here, and I'm set to do a job. The biggest thing was having my brother and my girlfriend flown out here. They're my my main driving forces. To have him holding pads for me, I feel crisp. I'm looking really good, so I can't wait."
