Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas recently spoke with MMAJunkie about a possible fight with friend and teammate Marcos Galvao. Here are the highlights…
On Marcos Galvao Earning a Title Shot: "That would be complicated. Let's wait to see who wins the tournament, and then we'll talk."
Has Money Changed Him?: "I still live in the favela, up on the hill," he said. "I'm proud of that. I have invested my money in some real estate, but I live here because it's much more affordable. I have very few expenses. Of course, it's normal to want to move to a better place. But thus far I haven't had the opportunity to live somewhere better than here. I prefer to remain here since it's more family-friendly. My relatives are here. My mother, my uncles – my entire family lives here. I like living here. It doesn't mean I won't move somewhere better. But now I'm investing for the future, so I won't lose or waste my money on stupid, unnecessary things."
On His Recent Success: "My dream came true," he said. "I barely believe that it happened. Now we'll keep the ball rolling forwarded, training more to be the best in the world."
