Dana White Talks Conor McGregor & more!
Dana White recently spoke to UFC.com about the contenders in the UFC Featherweight Division. Here is what he had to say… “Especially with all the excitement in that division with Conor McGregor, Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar – that division is so exciting that people are talking about freaking Nik Lentz and Dennis Bermudez. I told Cub and Frankie, ‘Don’t worry about anything you hear with all the Conor McGregor talk and all the other stuff. You worry about Cub Swanson and you worry about Frankie Edgar.’ Believe me, the fact that people are arguing over who should get a title shot in the 145-pound division isn’t a bad thing. It’s a good thing.”

Fitch Blames NSAC For What Happened With Palhares
Posted on 19 Sep 2015

Jon Fitch (26-7-1) said he blames the Nevada State Athletic Commission for what happened involving Rousimar Palhares at WSOF 22. Palhares previously defeated Fitch by submission at WSOF 16 but held on the kneebar for too long. At WSOF 22, defeated Jake Shields with a kimura and once again held on the hold for too long. Here are highlights:

On why the NSAC should have stepped in: “He’s taken a lot of dirty shots at people (by) holding on to submissions – he held on to mine, I think, a little bit too long – but I think the blame falls on the commission. I’m going to blame the commission first. This is the commission’s fault. It never should gotten to the sixth time. How does it ever get to the sixth time? If this was the sixth marijuana offense, where would his suspension be? Right? So how did it get to six times?”

On Palhares never getting punished: “That never happened with Palhares. He never learned his lesson. He was never taught a lesson. If you’re not going to punish a guy for his actions, he’s just going to keep doing it. … This falls squarely on the shoulders of the commission. It’s the commission’s fault. There are a lot of fighters who are injured. They could be fighters who had time taken off their career because of those injuries they received from submissions being held too long. I still have a bit of a limp in my leg that will probably be there forever. … But again, I don’t blame Palhares. I blame the commission.”
