Shawn Carwin and Roy Nelson went at it over Twitter yesterday. The two, who are set to coach against each other for The Ultimate Fighter 16, began sparring over the social media site and then deleted the tweets.
The tweets included Nelson implying that Carwin was using steroids, posting:
Why wait [until] December we can see if we can get on @ufc 151. Is this enough time to cycle off?
Carwin replying by attacking Victor Conte and Kurt Angle, both of which Nelson had mentioned as potential members of his coaching staff, as "convicted criminals." Conte went to jail for money laundering and conspiracy to distribute steroids, while Angle has been arrested four times and convicted twice for DWIs.
Carwin later said that he legitimately disliked Nelson, telling MMAjunkie, "It's a guy that I look forward to fighting. I don't like him, and I know he doesn't care for me, so it makes for an easy fight and some motivation."
