Francis Carmont recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight against Karlos Vemola at UFC on FUEL TV 4 tomorrow and more. Check out the highlights:
On his plans for his career: "It's only the beginning of my UFC career – my third fight. But I will be the best middleweight in the world. I trained hard for this. I'm sure in a couple fights, I'm going to make my place and all the people can see I'm one of the best middleweights in the world."
On Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva's trash talk: "I don't like to speak too much about my opponent. Chael talks a lot, but he walks his walk in the octagon. He's a very tough guy – one of the best. Sure, he lost to Anderson Silva. But he is so strong. Me, I prefer to be humble and quiet and do my job in the cage. It's my time. I'm shy, but I just want to fight and give my best."
On training with Georges St. Pierre: "Georges is not (just) my training partner – he's my friend. He's my very good friend. He's given me so many opportunities to be better in the cage. If I win five or six fights, it's because he's my guy. He's the best fighter in the world."
On his desire to push himself: "They're going to see one of the best middleweights in the division. I'm here to show everyone who I am. In my life, I've made all this possible – if tomorrow I want to be the president, I can be the president. But my dream is to be the UFC middleweight champion. I what to make it possible for my dreams to come true. If you've seen the movie 'Limitless,' I have the same mentality as that guy."
