Edson Barboza's now-legendary knockout of Terry Etim at UFC 142 has advanced to the final eight in the Play of the Year category for the 2012 ESPY Awards.
Barboza – a No. 14 seed in the voting – was just voted past the No. 3 seed, PGA Tour golfer Louis Oosthuizen's double-eagle at the Masters last April. He is now one of eight finalists that could take home the ESPY at the awards show on July 11, at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
The next play standing in his way is the one made by Heath Frisby at Winter Games X. In January, he landed the first snowmobile front flip that the Games has ever seen during the "Best Trick" competition.
