Roger Bowling recently spoke with MMAjunkie about his upcoming fight with Tarec Saffiedine at Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman and more. Check out the highlights:
On wanting a title shot before he considers hopping to the UFC: "I want to get that Strikeforce belt first – that's my goal."
On Saffiedine:"I asked them for a reputable opponent – I want to fight somebody good. A couple guys, I've fought on late notice and it's hard to get motivated for fights like that. But with Tarec, it's easy to get motivated. I can't wait to get in there with him."
On his win over Brandon Saling: "It was nice to get in and get out (against Saling) because I probably wasn't in as best shape as I could've been if i'd have had a longer camp. I need later-round experience because that's what I'm lacking in my MMA career – just rounds."
On being happy in Strikeforce: "They've treated me good, Scott Coker and Sean Shelby and all the guys. They're a first-class organization and we've got tough guys there, too. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. They're keeping me busy and giving me the fights I need. I'm happy with them."
