Sergio Moraes – finalist from The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil - spoke with MMAJunkie about his upcoming fight at UFC 147 against Cezar "Mutante" Ferreira. Here are some highlights:
On hearing the news of his upcoming fight: "When they called me from the UFC, I thought I wasn't fighting at all. When they told me I was in the finals, I was so excited. When I found out, it was very early in the morning. I was actually asleep, so as soon as I found out, I just picked up my things and ran to the gym."
On seeing this as a chance to redeem his one loss in The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil: "Everyone knows how much I wanted this and how much I worked for this. Unfortunately, yes, the loss happened, but now they picked me, and I think it's just because of my work, and I'm very, very happy. I'm not thinking about the loss. I'm only thinking about the win. I have trained my whole life for this one fight, so it would mean a lot."
On the upcoming fight: "I think this has shown me that I can do even more than I thought that I could. This shows that I can do much more than I thought. I try to mix in everything, but everybody knows that jiu-jitsu is my turf. It's my strength. For some, the ground is just the limit. For me, it's just the beginning."
