Bellator has signed havyweights Vitaly Minakov (8-0 MMA, 0-0 BFC) and Ryan Martinez (7-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC). Minakov's debut with the promotion is expected to be announced shortly; while Martinez will fight for the first time under the Bellator banner at Bellator 73 on Aug. 24th. Here are some comments from the new fighters…
Minakov: "Becoming a Bellator fighter means that all my hard work in the gym and training has all paid off," Minakov stated. "It means myself and my entire team were working in the right direction and we did everything right."
Martinez: "The second I heard Bellator had interest in bringing me over, I thought the move was a no-brainer, so everything came together pretty quickly. Bellator, without a doubt in my mind, has the hungriest and most exciting fighters in this sport, and I want to be a part of that. Cole Konrad has an unbelievable wrestling base and background, and Brett Rogers has made a name for himself in this sport, but all I see are guys that will be good names to put on my resume as wins. Nobody is as hungry as I am, and I'm ready to give it 120 percent."
