UFC 151: Jones vs Henderson At Mandalay Bay

UFC has formally requested to hold UFC 151: Jones vs Henderson at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The event will take place on September 1. UFC made the request on Thursday at the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) meeting.

The main event will be a light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones (16-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) and Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC). The main card will air on PPV, with the preliminary fights expected to air on FX and stream on Facebook.

The venue hosted UFC 143 earlier this year, and has hosted 22 UFC shows so far, including two in 2011. The MGM Grand Garden Arena hosted most of the other major Las Vegas UFC shows. Jones is currently opened as the favorite in the fight. This will be Jones' fourth title defense.

UFC 151 will also likely feature a bout between featherweights Dennis Siver (20-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC) and Eddie Yagin (16-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC).
