Frank Mir got approval for testosterone-replacement therapy ahead of his fight with Junior dos Santos at UFC 146. Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer confirmed today that they approved Mir for the use, the fourth person to do so. Chael Sonnen is expected to be #5 for his fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 148.
Kizer said that Mir met all the testing requirements after applying in March. Those requirements include five blood tests measuring his serum-testosterone level. All of which fell below the normal range expected in a healthy adult male. He was also subjected to two urine tests, both of which came up with a testosterone-to-epitestosterone level with the NSAC's 6-to-1 limit.
Mir lost to Dos Santos by second round TKO at the show.
