Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez spoke with MMAJunkie about his upcoming fight with Antonio Silva at UFC 146, and how he misses being the champion. Here are some highlights:
About how not being champion allows him to keep his focus: "That stays with you; you either have it or you don't. I'm always trying to push myself harder and get better. That's always my motivation. Less media, the better."
About losing the belt to Dos Santos: "We had a game plan for me. There was no sense of urgency in executing that game plan, so that's where I messed up. I stayed on the outside way too long with somebody who's dangerous with his hands."
About what to expect from Antonio Silva at UFC 146: "I'm expecting a different kind of fighter on Saturday. I can't go off of what [Cormier] did."
