UFC on FX 5 will take place on September 7 from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse (formerly Conseco Fieldhouse) in Indianapolis, Indiana. The venue seats 19,000 people.
No fights have been signed yet and tickets will not be on sale until July 20.
Chris Lytle, who is from Indianapolis, won't be on the card, as he retired in 2011 after a 5-1 run. He also recently lost the Republican nomination for the Indiana State Senate in District 28. He said he hasn't reconsidered his retirement, because he may run again. Lytle was a part of the last and only UFC show in the city in September 2010. The event had an attendance of 15,811 (with a $1.6 million gate). Frank Mir knocked out Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. It was called one of the year's worst events.
The main card for UFC on FX 5 will air on FX with preliminary fights on FUEL TV. The venue is also home to NBA's Indiana Pacers, the WNBA's Indiana Fever and the Big Ten Conference basketball tournaments.
